We had a hell of a storm last night. I and a few other friends were watching WWE Wrestlemania 22 when we lost signal. A few minutes after losing signal the power went out and 81mph winds came blowing in. As I was running to shut the door, I saw a wooden swing coming towards the door. Just as soon as I shut the door I heard a loud CRASH and then another shortly following that one. I thought it was the swing, but after everything died down, I went outside. It was two trees on top of the house. The deck I just saw was destroyed. The winds were no longer than 45 seconds, and in that time, caused thousands and thousands dollars of damage throughout the small town of Petersburg.

In other news, I still have yet to purchase a camcorder. The AG DVX100B is what I'm going after now, but that could all change in a day or so. No new projects have started yet, as ASH has started to come near finishing.

SCREENING, CAMCORDER

Yesterday was the "official" screening of "Safety Under Pressure", our short documentary, to the school board. It was one of those drama filled school board nights, so a lot of people were there. It looked good on a projecter 7x7' screen.

I've been comparing camcorders still. I would like to get an HD camcorder, but the one I want, and as of now, really the only one worth buying is the Canon XL H1 ($8,999.99). I've heard nothing but BAD things about both Panasonic and Sony, though JVC seems to be pretty good. I'm just not much on JVC products at a personal level. I may end up going with a standard definition camcorder (Panasonic AG-DVX 100a). Hopefully Ebay will lend a helping hand so I can save money to get lights and audio equipment also. Tight budget.

SAFETY UNDER PRESSUE AND NEW PROJECTS

After four long grueling days of editing "Safety Under Pressure", it has finally been finished. It was cut short, at roughly 4 minutes and 45 seconds. I basically ran out of good footage to use, so instead of killing it with shaky, un-interesting footage, I cut it clean. It seems like it has a very abrubt ending, but all in all I'm very pleased with what I've got done in 4 days. I will post it on the website when I get a chance to compress it for the web.

After doing this 5 day project, I've decided I want to do another documentary, but more in depth than the latter. I'm not exactly sure what I want to discuss, but I'll find something thats interesting and has been on my mind for a while.

But before I can start on that project, I must finish ASH. I should really start back on it tomorrow, but I need to re-focus and take a day just to relax and think. I've spent so much time working on the last project that I'm extremely exhausted by the end of the day. On average, I edited 9.5 hours a day (on top of a full school day and a part time job)...

Monday will be a new day, and ASH will be back into focus.

CHECKING IN

I've been busy as hell around here in Indiana working on many projects. The main two, which you all know, is the documentary and short film. Between the two films, working, and going to school, I haven't had much time to update. Today we spent the majority of the day organizing and writing the final script for the documentary... which has a Friday deadline! It's going to be a long and rough few days/nights.

In other news, I'm turning 18 on Wednesday, the 22nd. Send me a few grand so I can buy a new camcorder and a Macbook.

I just got the new iwork 06' and ilife06. They are awesome! The new pages has a built in script writing program and storyboarding program. Very cool. I was actually looking for a cheap program, but have now found one.. on accident.

The Upcoming Months

I hope to finish ASH in 2 weeks. Once I have finished that I won't be taking any other films to edit until I go to LA. Unless a good oppurtunity comes about that is... Mainly because I will be starting production on the very first episode of Luff Enuff, which will debut at Action/Cut Film Festival. Once that is finished I will be working a 70hr a week job, to help fund myself for Los Angeles.

Grizzly Man

I have never been more blown away or captivated by a documentary - or any film for that matter - than I was when I watched Grizzly Man. It was incredible. I can't find the right words do it justice. If this were on a scale of 1-10, 10 being the highest, it would easily get an 11. Normally during films I wonder off for a moment in a boring part or just can't stay focused (ADD?), but not this one. I started it at 5pm and stopped it at 6:28pm without turning away or wondering in my mind elsewhere. I feel like I know Timothy Treadwell. When you can say you feel as if you knew somebody your whole life, and only really seen them once for an hour and a half on a TV, thats saying something.

I have yet to watch "The Incident at Loch Ness", but will tomorrow.

GO GET GRIZZLY MAN, YOU WON'T BE DISSAPOINTED!

It's Been a While

It's been a while since I last updated.. a long while.

Since my last post, I've been wrapped in editing Ash. It's still not entirely finished, as we ran into a few problems. One somewhat potentially big problem. It should be finished in a month.

I've also began writing some projects to come. And I've also been filming for the "Luff Enuff" reality series that will be airing on www.evolutionstopshere.com. That will defiantly be one to watch.

Next post I will have a full review of Werner Herzog's new documentary "Grizzly Man". I bought it a few days ago and should get it in Monday.

I have been working on Newmanity, LLC and Danny Abel's Ash. I'm hoping to get it finished in a few weeks, so I won't be updating as often as I would like here. Hopefully I'll be able to cut together a preview for the site.

As you can tell, the "other" section is still underconstruction. It should be up soon. On the old site "other" wasn't that usefull. Now it will have the Guestbook, Photo's and Article's part of the website. So be sure to check it out and post in the Guestbook.

Faded Pictures t-shirts will be available soon. I'm waiting for a sample. If they are nice, I will set up the online store. It will have more than just t-shirts (hoodies, mugs, calendars, journals, stickers, hats, beanies).

Faded Pictures?

There has been a lot of name changing. Silent Call Films is now Silent Call Productions. Faded Pictures are all the films, producing, etc. I do for myself. It all may seem confusing as of now, but you'll get the hang of it.

Everything has been switched the new host server, so no pop ups! Well, actually one, but thats from TK, and its not that big of a deal.

I added The Ride to the Film section. If you remember, I only had it up on the site for 3 days, but I decided I will leave it up for good.
